It’s been quite some time since I put anything out as a solo artist. My July 2025 EP ‘Roses’ is now on Soundcloud. These songs have a definite theme: nostalgia and loss. They were all written after I lost my Mother in November 2024 and some of them deal directly with that subject. It’s the first music I have released of my own since building my studio. Initially intended solely as a recording and mixing space it now doubles as a dark room for my film photography. It was a lot of work but finally the space is functional. It has sufficient space to provide a good acoustic environment and enough isolation for me to record drums without disturbing anyone. The sonic palette for this EP is drums, guitars, vocal and a vintage Yamaha TX802 hardware synth.
It has been a real pleasure to have the opportunity to do some remixes for an old friend and collaborator who now resides back in his home country of Japan. This and another of my remixes entitled ‘lakeside Remix’ were released in May 2025. I am really excited at the prospect of working on future projects with Men Spyder.
Had the pleasure to mix and get a little involved with the general production aspect of this song by Ivan Teage. We go way back. Looking forward to more amazing songs from him.
